Meta Meta Arts and Crafts

Meta Meta Arts and Crafts aim to promote and support the real indigenous Kenyan artists and to help showcase their work on the international stage. Meta is a Swahili name meaning ‘SHINE'; we endeavour to shine the spotlight on unprivileged artists from Kenya who do not get recognition for their hard work and unique artistic skills. The paintings are the works of Wambua an artist based in the coastal city ofMombasa in Kenya. Wambua is a self-taught artist and the beauty of the country has inspired him to paint his experiences on canvas and to hand craft excellent artefacts. His main motivation is to allow the world to learn and appreciate the beauty of Kenya and to promote African cultures through his paintings.

The paintings are drawn from his personal view of the magnificent Kenyan Flora and Fauna and the beautiful landscapes that attract tourists from all corners of the world; from the plains of the Massai Mara where the natures greatest events of the annual migration of the Wildebeests takes place, to the Sceneries of the sunset and sunrise at the Mount Kilimanjaro and the reflection of, predominately Massai cultures.

The clever and unique blend of colours used brings life to his paintings, that allows the viewers to have a glimpse into the beauty of Kenya and its spectacular scenery through the lens of his artistry and this is symbolised by his signature on all his paintings.

Meta Meta Arts and Crafts goals/ambitions is to hopefully be able to bring some of these skilled artists and craftsmen to promote and showcase their own work to the international market at various cultural events; it would be an honour for them to get the recognition and awards they deserve. By purchasing any paintings or crafts, you will directly be helping these people who dedicate their lives to show the world what Africa has to offer, but who are not privileged to travel the world and do their ownshowcasing.
