Black History Studies presents the Sankofa Sunday interactive workshop on ‘Reparations in Action: Imagining and Building a Repaired Community: Moving Beyond Compensation Towards Healing, Justice and Collective Transformation’.

Reparations are often reduced to discussions about financial compensation. Yet if reparations are truly about repairing harm, what would a repaired African-descended community actually look like?

This interactive workshop invites participants to move beyond abstract debates and imagine the practical, social, economic, psychological, cultural and spiritual changes that genuine reparative justice would create.

Participants will collectively develop a vision of a repaired community and identify practical actions that governments, institutions and communities themselves can begin implementing today.

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOT TO BE MISSED!!

This event will take place on Sunday 26 July 2026 from 13:00 to 16:00.
