Black History Studies presents FREE Webinar – Against Erasure: Black Victims and Resistance to Nazism
This webinar highlights the often-forgotten history of Black victims of the Nazi era while also honouring Black individuals who resisted Nazi oppression. It will explore how Nazi racial ideology targeted Black communities through discrimination, forced sterilisation, imprisonment, medical abuse, and social erasure, both within Germany and across occupied territories. Alongside these narratives of persecution, the webinar will examine acts of resistance by Black people – ranging from political activism and cultural defiance to participation in anti-Nazi resistance movements and military opposition. By centering these overlooked stories, the webinar aims to expand understanding of the Nazi era, challenge incomplete historical narratives, and recognise Black agency, resilience, and resistance in the face of racial violence and tyranny.
THIS EVENT IS NOT TO BE MISSED!!
