ONLINE COURSE: African History Before the Slave Trade Thursday 7 November 2024 – Thursday 12 December 2024

This important course addresses the question: What was Africa like just before the Slave Trade began in 1441? This informative and inspirational course covers the development of high cultures in Africa before the coming of the Europeans and mass enslavement, the role of Africans in the early history of Nubia and Ancient Egypt and the role of Black people in the ancient civilisations of Asia, Europe and Central America.

The information itself is designed to inspire, challenge and to provoke serious thought.

This is an introductory course and assumes no prior knowledge of the subject area, but the adult student is taken through an avalanche of information. Reading lists are provided. There are no entry requirements for this course and learners will not have to take any exams.

Using a lecture-discussion format, the course will run for six weeks, one lecture per week on Thursday evening from 19:00 GMT to 21:00 GMT via Zoom Webinar.
