From Yard to Archive: Reparative Archiving Program the Rastafarian Sessions is hosted by Decolonising the Archive (DTA) aims to allow members of the vital and rich Rastafarian community to set the context and history of Rastafari within the paradigm of a framework for the African heritage identity both here in Britain and Jamaica.

The programme aims to deepen understanding of the significant role Rastafarian communities played in shaping radical thought, cultural expression and social change in Britain during the 1970s to present. By centering these often-overlooked contributions, the workshop invites participants to critically engage with histories that challenge dominant narratives and expand how we understand heritage and activism.

Designed as an early stage, foundational programme, these sessions equips participants with the critical grounding and historical awareness needed to engage responsibly and creatively with reparative archival practices and the rich, complex histories that underpin them.

Decolonising the Archive believes in the power of collaboration as such we have joined hands with like minded individuals and groups to get this information shared and accessed.
