In this presentation, Black History Studies will trace the historical roots of Black Music, exploring the roots that sprouted branches around the world. This presentation takes us on a musical journey from Ancient African music to Grime, emphasizing the study of Black music practices, history and delving into the context behind the music.
On the journey, we consider Blues, Ragtime, Jazz, Soul, Rock & Roll, Funk, Reggae, Disco, Hip Hop, Techno and House. We will breakdown similarities, connecting the dots within the history of Black music around the world in places such as the Caribbean, America and Black Britain.
